PUPR Minister Will Adjust Toll Tariffs Due to Fuel Price Increase

JAKARTA, - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said his party plans to adjust toll rates. He said this was done in the context of the revival of the national economy and the new regulations regarding the price of fuel oil (BBM).

"If the toll tariffs are due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I can't stand (the increase in toll rates), now the economy has moved, according to the rules, according to inflation, we are trying to adjust (toll rates)," Basuki said when met after reviewing the Ciawi - Sukabumi Toll Road Section 2, Tenjo Ayu Street, Sukabumi, West Java, Tuesday (20/9/2022).

However, said Basuki, the adjustment of the toll tariff will take into account the ability of the community as seen from the survey results.

"As long as the willingness to pay adjustment is still below what we always survey, we will adjust it," he said.

Furthermore, Basuki said that the adjustment of toll tariffs would affect toll services and the investment climate. "Hopefully we'll see, so far I sometimes complain about violating the law, but as long as I defend the community," he said.
